Question

Assume that the base register contains $32856$. The program counter is currently at $25687$ memory location. What is the branch address if the address field of jump instruction contains $-30$ in the address field and the instruction is designed in base register addressing mode?

position independent code can be written with both relative addr mode as well as base add mode

so if relative addr mode is given we do M[pc +x] {x= jump cond}

if base addr mode is guven we do M[base reg + x]
