For subnetting  you should buy bit from network id only.

In subnetting,

We know that

SubnetID bits + NetID bits= Mask bits

eg:let we have subnet mask of 27 bits and we have given address of CLASS C i.e. 24bits . Also we know that Host ID bit will be of 8bit.

24+S=27

Then S=3

Now to make a subnet having 3bit we need to take 3bit from host ID bits...

We can see that NetID bits remains unaffected while host Id bits reduced

Hope u understands

In subnetting, we borrow bits from the host id or part.

And, In supernetting, we borrow bits from network id or part. I think, we are combining one or more networks together in supernetting.

While subnetting, we keep 2 addresses reserved : 1 for network and 1 for broadcast. This can be verified from https://www.iplocation.net/subnet-calculator ... identification of the network and the subnets under them. So, please guide me.
